Global star Priyanka Chopra is one of the most talented actresses of Bollywood, who over the years has been ruling over the hearts of her fans all around the world with her brilliant acting and gorgeous looks. However, besides her brilliant acting skills, the actress has gained everyone’s respect with her social and philanthropy work, that she has been doing over for so many years.
Impressed with her work, UNICEF decided to make her ‘UNICEF Goodwill’ ambassador. The actress has been associated with UNICEF for many years now. She often takes part in social activities and visits villages and small towns in underdeveloped countries and contribute in whatever ways she can with the help of UNICEF.

Abda Abdulaziz, 26, arrived at the Bambasi camp in 2011 seeking refuge from the war in Sudan. Her 5 children were born in this camp and are being raised here, while her husband works as a laborer at a nearby farm – they see each other every two weeks for a few days. She said that if the violence in her country settles, she and her husband may consider going back, but she is not very hopeful that will happen. In the meantime, life in the camp allows her children to have access to an education. I met two of her daughters, Zulfa Ata Ey, 8, and Muzalefa, 10, at the primary school I had visited earlier in the day. Zulfa is at the top of her class and her mom is so proud. While they’re safe and her children are receiving an education, they are still living below the poverty line, and she’s desperate for the most basic supplies…like water, books, and clothes for her children. However, even after doing so much of social work for mother earth, the actress has been trolled many times for no reason at all.
It was last year when the actress visited Ethiopia to hear the plight of refugee kids out there. The actress was keeping her fans updated about her work in Ethiopia via her social media accounts. This is when she decided to host an interactive session on her Instagram and asked her Instagram followers to ask her questions.
The actress was soon flooded with many interesting questions from fans, however, there was this one fan who tried to slam her by asking: “I really adore your work Mam. But what about our motherland?”
The actress very gracefully replied to the follower and wrote:
“I believe a child is a child and we all are global citizens and we need to care about the future of children all over the world. I have worked with UNICEF in India for many years and will continue to do so.”
Another follower asked her about her role in the trip, to which she answered: “Ethiopia is at the moment going through a silent emergency and I am going to these refugee camps to meet these kids, listen to their stories and be a voice for them, use my voice to amplify theirs to get the world to care.”
Meanwhile, the actress is currently living in isolation with her family because of the Coronavirus outbreak. She has been trying her best to spread awareness about the disease via her social media accounts.
